I admire you wit and sagacity, too. I don't consider myself Platonic, though. I simply think the law should apply equally to everyone, even Trump. All I'm really saying is have the damn trial before the election so voters know which candidate to aim for with the bean bag. Jim
Much as I continue to admire your wit and sagacity, I think your Platonic view of what politics oughta be sorta misses the mark here. Mr. Dooley was right that politics ain't beanbag and the job of the contenders is to win using any tool at hand. So Trump's opponents try to keep him off the ballot-- a common tactic when signatures on nominating petitions are challenged-- and Trump tries to delay his legal day of reckoning (justice delayed is justice denied). Ultimately -- and hopefully -- we muddle throuh.
